THE GAZR IN U
New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art 2014
Invited to exhibit at the site of a failed 19th century utopian community, the Maidens designed a plan by which the community would be assisted in its goals of happiness and harmony. By creating a video that would time-travel back to 1824, the Maidens would demonstrate to the Harmonists how the power of gazing could supplant the romance that was missing in their lives. Video was projected onto a long 'beard' that would remind the Harmonists of their leader.
